Two young Horticuluralists, Bridget & Steve, set off on an intrepid adventure through Africa in a trusty Landrover named “STANLEY”. They nearly drove off the end of the world. 32,000km and 23 countries later, they stopped this amazing journey when they discovered the beautiful, pure and pristine terroir of the Awatere Valley in Marlborough, NEW ZEALAND.
Since 2003 this is home to Stanley Estates Wines.
They put down their roots and planted a range of exciting varieties to craft Single Vineyard Wines from their Awatere Valley Vineyards which include Albarino, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Lagrein. Sustainable grape production has been a key feature to the vineyard, accredited to the SWNZ protocol since 2005.
The wines have been recognised worldwide, winning 4 trophies in London at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) for their Sauvignon Blanc, trophy for the Best International Sauvignon Blanc in Australia in the Sydney International Wine Competition and a trophy for Best International Sauvignon Blanc in the Spiegelau International Wine Competition.
